A model based approach for rectifying the cameraimage of the bound document has been developed, i.e., thesurface of the document is represented by a generalcylindrical surface. The principle of using the model tounwrap the image is discussed. Practically, the skeleton ofeach horizontal text line is extracted to help estimate theparameter of the model, and rectify the images. To use themodel, only a few priori is required, and no more auxiliarydevice is necessary. Experiment results are given todemonstrate the feasibility and the stability of the method.
