Abstract

We have developed a well performing algorithm for locatingaddress blocks in postal parcel images. Both machineprinted and handwritten addresses are processed bythe algorithm. The algorithm is invariant to the image orientationand scale, and it works with high noise images. Itcould also serve as an additional step after other addressblock location algorithms.
