Abstract

In this paper a word recognition and verification schemebased on HMMs is presented. However, the main contributionof the current work lies in the validation of sucha strategy. In order to perform this task, we carried outsome experiments on word recognition using a legal amountdatabase and then we compared the results reached withother study which makes use of the same database. Theexperiments demonstrate the efficiency of the strategy wedeveloped for word recognition and verification.
