Abstract

In this paper, we present an effective method to writeridentification that is carried out using single Chinesecharacter as script, which is very flexible and very easy tobe used in practice. The directional element features arefirst extracted from the handwriting character scripts,then the dimensions of the features is reduced using PCAin order to cope with the small sample size problem. Themost discriminative features are extracted from thereduced feature space using Fisher's Linear DiscriminantAnalysis. The Euclidian distance is proposed forclassification. Experimental result verified theeffectiveness of the proposed method.
