Abstract

We present our extension for structured fluidsimulators and solvers widely used in computer graphicsand simulation applications. It is based on storing pre-calculatedfluid simulator states (FSS). The simulationusing our extension is based on partial computation withsynchronous utilization of pre-calculated fluid simulatorstates stored on disk device. We have incorporated this concept to real-timesimulation and visualization system of combustionprocesses in pulverized coal boilers. The system is basedon a simple fluid simulator and a coal particle system. We compared features between classical approach ofstoring data sets and saving the output of visualization tocommon movie files formats. Furthermore, we haveperformed measurements of overall acceleration and diskspace requirements. The disk space requirements are inorders less demanding than the ones needed for savingcorresponding data sets. This allows better scalability andstoring and replaying results of complex tasks with largegrids and/or ten thousands of particles.
