Abstract

Agent.Hospital is an open agent-based (software)framework for distributed applications in the healthcaredomain. Previous appropriation of the Agent.Hospitaldevelopment is application and examination of agenttechnology in realistic business scenarios and theidentification of further research needs. This paperintroduces the framework developed by the GermanPriority Research Program 1083. We describe the initialsystem concept, currently implemented or specifiedfunctionalities and the integration of FIPAstandardization activities. The example scenario "clinicaltrials" illustrates how Agent.Hospital supportsdistributed clinical processes as well as further researchof agent technology.
