Abstract

This paper provides a brief summary of some overall currents and directions in my research with a particular emphasis on my work in the area of process. Using this perspective as a basis, the paper suggests the importance of using the challenge of grappling with hard technical problems as a basis for searching for deeper questions. The search for deep and enduring problems at the core of our discipline is rewarding for individual researchers and could provide substance, direction, purpose, and credibility for the community.
