A permanently increasing graphical power ofcommonly used computers opens a possibility topresent highly detailed and richly textured three-dimensionalmodels of cultural complexes using theweb. Utilizing virtual reality paradigms, both expertsand ordinary users can explore pieces of culturalheritage in a virtual environment. This paper introduces three different approaches tocultural heritage modeling and presentation in theCzech Republic. The first example, Celtic oppidumZávist, represents a simple but efficient utilization ofthe virtual reality for the archaeology. Next project, the Virtual Old Prague, is a complex web-basedapplication allowing dynamic walks through virtualcities. Such models can be theoretically of any size. Finally, the on-going EU project, Virtual Heart ofCentral Europe, is an example of several culturalheritage sites thematically interconnected intoa common virtual environment.
