Abstract

This paper introduces a component-based infrastructureto build customized persistent object managers. The usageof such an infrastructure is twofold. First, the infrastructurecan be used to instantiate persistence object managersfor applications where full-fledged database managementsystems (DBMS) may be cumbersome (e.g. resource constrainedsystems). Second, it can be used to build databasemiddleware. We focus on the description of components andrelated design patterns.
