Abstract

Advances in wireless Internet and mobile computing requirea new service model for location aware services tosupport push services and personalization services basedon mobility patterns of mobile users. This paper presents aprototype of CAMEL (Continuous, Active Monitor Enginefor Location-based Services), a high performance locationstream engine to manage large number of moving objectsin support of intelligent location aware services. We introducethe location model employed by CAMEL, the componentarchitecture and key components of CAMLE, includinga Database component, Location Listener, Query Engine,Location Filter, Trigger Handler and Data Server. Alsowe present an enhanced processing algorithm using Max-Velocityconstraint for improving performance of BinaryMoving Object Trigger.
