Abstract

The main issue addressed in this paper is the definitionof a model that allows the prediction of the futurepositions that mobile users will reach inside a building.The building has a stationary LAN cellular network whosecells are small enough to represent a sufficientapproximation of mobile users' positions. Mobile userscan move inside the building following predeclared routesor in a free manner. The stationary network provides theinfrastructure for tracking the mobile users and fordelivering several kinds of services to them. An effectivedelivery of these services should be impossible withoutthe knowledge provided from the predictive model hereindescribed.
