Abstract

The problem of knowledge sharing is eminent in theP2P area. In this paper, we propose a general framework, called HELIOS (Helios Evolving Interaction-basedOntology knowledge Sharing), conceived for supporting dynamicontology-based knowledge sharing and evolution inP2P systems. The knowledge sharing and evolution processesin HELIOS are based on peer ontologies, describingthe knowledge of each peer, and on interactions amongpeers, allowing information search and knowledge acquisition/extension, according to pre-defined query models andsemantic techniques for ontology matching.
