Abstract

We propose using the publish-subscribe model tocomplement proprietary or standard agentcommunication languages, useful particularly in the caseof exchanging and disseminating short communicationsabout events and consequently, reducing complexity ofmulti-agent messaging. We describe how we implementedthe event notification mechanism for mobile agents, andanalyse experiments that demonstrate the Elvin-basedevent notification mechanism for communication betweenGrasshopper agents and Aglets. We also discuss messageloss due to agent migration and offer solutions toreliable communication between mobile agents usingevents.
