Abstract

Both the energy consumption and the propagation timedelay are very critical parameters of contemporaryintegrated circuits. It is obvious that a circuit shouldconsume energy as small as possible and ought to workwith maximum speed and efficiency. However, theseparameters are dependent on temperature, which canchange with both external (e.g. high surroundingtemperature) and internal (e.g. power dissipated in thecircuit) conditions. The article presents the temperatureinfluence on energy consumption and propagation timedelay of CMOS ASIC circuits at the example of AMISemiconductor 0.7 µ CMOS C07MD technology (formerAlcatel MIETEC CMOS 0.7 µm-C07MA-C07MD). Thegate was tested under the two conditions: controlled byideal trapezoid pulse signal, and controlled by real outputsignal that came from previous gate.
