This paper contributes to Service Level Management of complexWeb-based e-business environments using WBEM/CIM. Such e-businessenvironments usually consist of Web servers and Web containersto realise client access, and EJB containers or CORBAcomponents for modelling the application business logic. Sincethe DMTF does not define a model providing a unified view uponsuch complex environments, the definition of a management informationmodel is the core part of the work presented. Currently, theinformation model mainly focuses on performance aspects, likeapplication response times, which are integral part of many SLAs.The paper also presents a framework that was developed toefficiently implement the information model. The framework increasesthe portability of CIM providers, which are responsible forretrieving management information, between different CIMOMsby providing an abstraction layer. In addition, the framework simplifiesthe development of providers by offering support for cachingetc.
