Compositional plug-and-play-like reuse of black boxcomponents requires sophisticated techniques to specifycomponents.How to specify business componentsformally is proposed in a memorandum presented by thebusiness components working group of the GermanInformatics Society (GI).Its main concept are introducedin the first part of this paper.So far not considered wasthe situation when a component allows adaptation bycustomizing (setting paramters).In the second part wediscuss how the memorandum can be extended to specifycustomizing data of business components.
