Accurate and timely information is a key motivator in thewidespread adoption of CBSE technology in Europe.Although there are overlaps and informalcommunications between researchers and adopters ofCBSE technology in Europe, there is no systematicmechanism for information interchange between the two.CBSEnet is a European Union initiative to create anInternet-based forum for the exchange of informationbetween researchers and adopters of CBSE. This paperdescribes a proposed classification model for CBSEresearch that will form the basis for structuring theCBSEnet knowledge base.
