Abstract

Trends in the current business world towardsdecentralization, joint ventures and outsourcing ofbusiness functions are highlighting a need for neweffective ways of sharing information and coordinatingactivities. One of the main tasks in an (Inter-) networkedsociety is to support people in working together in anelectronic world. The field of computer supportedcooperative work (CSCW) sets out to define and enablenew ways of work in the area of cooperative knowledgegeneration. This paper describes a framework forknowledge co-production. Our current projectinvestigates the contribution of tele-collaboration systemsfor the cooperative generation of knowledge in teams andcommunities.
