Abstract

MINO (pronounced 'minnow' or 'min-zero') is a block-structured language constructed directly on the formal, mathematical, definition of recursive functions and should therefore be capable of specifying any computable mapping. Moreover the denotational description allows MINO to be used as a base on which a progression of other, related and more 'realistic', languages can be bootstrapped. Mathematical properties of such languages can then be linked to the already existing body of knowledge concerning recursive functions.
