Abstract

Short product cycles and rapidly changing requirementsare increasingly forcing developers to use agile developmentstrategies like extreme programming and test-drivendevelopment. At the same time, hierarchical software designstrategies such as component based software engineeringare becoming necessary to overcome increasing softwarecomplexity. In this paper, we present a test-drivencomponent development framework that encapsulates testcode in a mirror component for automated testing duringdevelopment, and as an executable semantic to simplify assessmentand to increase trustworthiness of software systems.
