Abstract

For securing multicast traffic with IPSec mechanisms, amandatory requirement is that each member of the communication group owns the group security parameters. Forthis purpose, a concept for Multicast Internet Key Exchangeis introduced for negotiation and controlled distribution ofgroup security parameters and membership management.A daemon is presented for use in a military environment.Hence, its protocols are designed to be insensitive againstpacket loss and are able to deal with special military conditions.
