This paper gives a survey on the impact of handover betweenheterogenous links to the performance of TCP andelaborates on the effects TCP is challenged at the momentof a handover. Moreover, we propose several approachesto improve the performance of TCP in these situations andpresent an evaluation of these approaches by means of simulation.
