Abstract

The pervasive computing environment and the wiredGrid Infrastructure can be combined to make the InformationGrid truly pervasive. Interesting applications can bebuilt by utilizing the computational abilities of the Grid toanswer queries on sensor data. In this paper, we identifysome of the research issues and challenges in building aninfrastructure to support such applications. We present thedesign and preliminary implementation of the proposed infrastructure, identify the tradeoffs relating to sensor accuracyconsumption, and report experimental results from asample scenario involving firefighting.
