Abstract

The algorithms described in this document were designed for the OLIVER Data Base Management System Compiler. They are superior to previously published results in that they require a single left-to-right scan over the input string while maintaining the generation of optimal transfer logic code for NOT, AND, OR, IMPLIES and the looping of a repeating group operand. Exclusive OR and Equivalence are also recognized and translated by the algorithms.
