Abstract

The properties relating to the area of Algorithm Dynamics or Software Physics have been found to be governed by some basic equations expressed in terms of measurable software parameters of implemented algorithm. These properties, though still in the exploratory stage of development, show an acceptable coefficient of correlation in large number of computer programs when observed values of software parameters are concerned with their respective experimental values. The study describes a new set of relationships found to be functionally dependent on input/output parameters of the algorithm structure. The relationships are investigated in various computer programmes for making comparative study of calculated and observed values of the software parameters. An objective assessment of the properties is carried out in both pure and impure varsions of a trivial algorithm.
