Abstract

Elementary course work assessments at Brunel University consist of programming problems with guidelines as to the method of solution. With such an environment and a given language (Fortran) this paper provides a method whereby the set of submitted solutions are automatically assessed by their relative merits to the solution produced by the lecturer concerned.
