This paper proposes novel techniques for schedulingradar dwells in phased array radar systems. In order tohandle complex physical characteristics such as dwell inter-leaving,transmitting duty cycle constraint, and energy constraint,we propose a notion of schedulability envelope. Theschedulability envelope designed offline hides the details ofcomplex radar dwell scheduling and provides a simple measurefor the schedulability check. Using the schedulabilityenvelope, the proposed technique can efficiently perform theadmission control for dynamic target tracking tasks. Thesimulation results show that the proposed approach can significantlyimprove the system utilization by taking advantageof dwell interleaving while guaranteeing the schedulabilityand physical constraints.
