Abstract

This paper discusses the identification of fractional- and integer-order systems using the concept of continuous order-distribution. Based on the ability to define systems using continuous order-distributions, it is shown that frequency domain system identification can be performed. Least-squares techniques are applied to discretized order-distributions. Methods are presented for properly discretizing the order-distribution.
