Abstract

A primary goal of product development teams today is to ensure that quality is integral to everything they do. This article describes the initiatives the members of one product development team undertook to incorporate quality into every phase of their development process. The product was new, the team was new, and there was a strong commitment from every member of the team to prove just how much one product team could do to ensure the quality of its product.Development methodologies, process management techniques, software development imperatives, and project management principles were all applied to this project. This paper describes how these initiatives for quality product development were evaluated, implemented, and re-evaluated throughout the development cycle.
