Abstract

We present Lava, a hardware description language in which concisecircuit descriptions generate compact high performance reconfigurablecores on Xilinx' FPGAs. Lava provides a rich set ofconstructs for composing sub-circuit behaviour and layout. We alsodemonstrate how Lava also supports a flexible scheme for specifyingdynamic reconfiguration which allows the automatic synthesisof dynamic reconfiguration controllers.
