Ensuring the integrity of a digital video is animportant and challenging research problem arising outof many video applications. In this paper, we present ahierarchical framework for video authentication based oncryptographic secret sharing that protects a video fromspatial cropping and temporal jittering, yet is robustagainst frame dropping in the streaming video scenario. Our algorithm provides a trade-off between security androbustness by having configurable inputs. Theauthentication signature is compact and very sensitiveagainst spatial attacks such as region tampering, andinter-frame attacks like frame replacement, major framedropping, and frame reordering. Given a video, weidentify the key frames based on differential energybetween the frames. Considering video frames as shares,we compute the secret at three hierarchical levels. Themaster secret is used as digital signature to authenticatethe video. We present extensive experimental resultswhich show the utility of our technique.
