Abstract

A transactional agent is a mobile agent which manipulatesobjects in one or more than one computer so as to satisfysome constraint like ACID. An agent creates a surrogateagent on a computer on leaving the computer. A surrogateholds objects manipulated by the agent until the agent terminates. The surrogate can recreate a new incarnation ofthe agent if the agent is faulty. Transactional agents formultiple database servers are implemented in Aglets. Weevaluate the performance in terms of total access time comparedwith traditional client-server model.
