Generally, in order to manage and maintain a networksystem, it is necessary to carry out a series of operationsincluding assessing the network status, determining the networkerrors, selecting/approving the countermeasures andapplying the countermeasures. In the recent years, since thenetwork systems are becoming complicated and larger inscale, the network operations increasingly require specialprofessional knowledge and effort, thereby imposing heavyworkloads on the network administrators. In this paper,we propose and design the AIR-NMS (Active InformationResource architecture based Network Management SupportSystem) for decreasing the network administrators' workloads.
