Abstract

P2P systems are a revival paradigm for informationsharing among distributed nodes in the network.Currently, many research projects or practicalapplications have emerged from the early ICQ, Napster,Gnutella to most recently CAN, Gnougat, etc., but few ofthem support semantic retrieval. The advent of SemanticWeb is a highly innovative manner to enhance both theprecision and recall simultaneously. This paperinvestigates a searching problem as encountered in atourism scenario. Based on the scenario, we introduceseveral main requirements for constructing semanticretrieval in P2P network. Bared an ambitious goal, wedescribe a preliminary architecture of average peer. Finally, we offer an approach for a critical part of thearchitecture - the wrapper, which aims to alleviate themismatches caused by the content representations amongvarious peers.
