Abstract

In the field of color images watermarking, many methodsare accomplished by marking the image luminance, or byprocessing each color channel separately. This paper proposesa new DCT domain watermarking expressly devisedfor RGB color images based on the diversity technique incommunication system. The watermark is hidden within thedata in the same sequence by modifying a subset of blockDCT coefficients of each color channel. Detection is basedon a combination method by taking into account the informationconveyed by three color channels. Even if a particularchannel is severely faded, we may still be able to recovera reliable estimated of transmitted watermark through otherpropagation channel. Experimental results, as well as theoreticalanalysis, are presented to demonstrate the validityof the new approach with respect to algorithm operating onimage luminance only.
