Abstract

The works of Chen et al [On the Quality of Service of Failure Detectors], on Quality of Service (QoS) of failure detectors, assumes only mean loss as the systemparameter to message losses.This paper deals withthe QoS of failure detectors when the probabilistic behaviorof messages is extended with the probability distributionof loss burst lengths.The proposed Markovchain model, which treats loss bursts, is presented inthis paper.Some simulation results are commented.
