The Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology is veryimportant to support secure global electronic commerceand digital communications on networks. In electroniccommerce, different PKIs need to be interoperated. Especially, they need to be merged for merger and acquisitionof companies. This paper takes a different approachfrom cross-certification techniques toward merging differentPKIs. Our method is to merge the multiple CAs intoone. By using our method, the trust model with an efficientpath processing can be built in comparison with the traditionalmerging methods. Then we formalize merging processesand discuss the certification path processing and theoperational cost.
