Detector based on maximum a posteriori probability(MAP) criterion has been introduced for identifyingimage watermark in the discrete cosine transformdomain. This type of detector has been shown to beoptimum and robust to common image processingoperations. In this paper, an MAP detector in the discretewavelet transform domain is proposed. It is based onmodeling the wavelet coefficients by a generalizedGaussian distribution. Numerical experiments are used tocompare the effectiveness of the proposed detector withthe conventional correlation detector.
