Abstract

Along with the rapid development of mobile devices,resources become more and more dispersive, which posesa new challenge on how to support resource sharing andexchanging mechanism among the mobile users. Toaddress such issues, we describe in this paper ourapproach on building up a Mobile Information ResourceExchange System (MIRES). The design of MIRES makesuse of a central server to enable instant resources sharing.Metadata is introduced in our system to help record thecharacteristics of the shared resources. It is shown in thispaper that by proper management of the metadata, mobileresource exchanging can be turned into a highly efficientand user-friendly procedure.
