In ad hoc wireless networks, nodes are typicallypowered by batteries. Therefore saving energy has become a veryimportant objective, and different algorithms were proposed toachieve power ef.ciency during the routing process. Directionalantenna was suggested to further decrease transmission energyas well as to reduce interference. In this paper, we discuss threealgorithms for routing tree construction that take advantageof directional antenna, i.e, Simple-Linear (SL), Linear-Insertion(LI), and Reverse-Cone-Pairwise (RCP). Their performances arecompared through a simulation study.
