A new approach for non-blind watermarking of stillgray level images in the wavelet domain. The method usesthe Human Visual System (HVS) characteristic, and aninnovative entropy based approach to create an efficientwatermarking scheme is presented in this paper. Itdecomposes original image in DWT domain in to threehierarchical levels and watermarks it with a logo image,which is scrambled thru a well-known PN-sequence. Anentropy-based method is developed for selection of DWTcoefficients that provides an adaptive way for determiningthe number of watermarked coefficients andwatermarking factor at each level of DWT decomposition.This approach shows an excellent resistance againstalmost all the attacks known in the watermarkingliterature. The detection results of the method revealbetter resistance in comparison to the existance methods.With simple modifications, the method can be used forcolor images and in real time systems.
