Today many Data Grid applications need to manageand process a very large amount of data distributedacross multiple grid nodes and stored in relationaldatabases. The Grid Relational Catalog Project (GRelC)developed at the CACT/ISUFI of the University of Lecce, represents an attempt to design and deploy a Grid-DBMSfor the Globus Community. In this paper, after definingthe Grid-DBMS concept, we describe the GRelC librarywhich is layered on top of the Globus Toolkit. The usercan build client applications on top of it that can easilyget access to and interact with data resources.
