Abstract

As computing becomes more pervasive, informationsharing occurs in broad, highly dynamic network-based environments.Such pervasive computing environments pose adifficult challenge in formally accessing the resources. Thedigital information generally represents sensitive and confidentialinformation that organizations must protect andallow only authorized personnel to access and manipulatethem. As organizations implement information strategiesthat call for sharing access to resources in the networkedenvironment, mechanisms must be provided to protect theresources from adversaries. In this paper we seek to addressthe issue of how to advocate selective information sharingwhile minimizing the risks of unauthorized access. We integratea role-based delegation framework to propose a systemarchitecture. We also demonstrate the feasibility of ourframework through a proof-of-concept implementation.
