In this paper, focusing on visually meaningful color imagewatermarks, we construct a new digital watermarkingscheme based on the Discrete Cosine transformation. Theproposed method uses the sensitivity of human eyes toadaptively embed a watermark in a color image.In addition, to prevent tampering or unauthorizedaccess, a new watermark permutation function isproposed, which causes a structural noise over theextracted watermark. Also, we have proposed a procedureto eliminate this noise to decrease false positives and falsenegatives in the extracted watermark.The experimental results show that embedding thecolor watermark adapted to the original image producesthe most imperceptible and the most robust watermarkedimage under geometric and valumetric attacks.
