Abstract

This document describes a new architecture that exploitsSemantic Web technologies for supporting pervasivecontext-aware systems. This architecture called ContextBroker Architecture (CobrA) differs from other architecturesin using the Web Ontology Language OWL for modelingontologies of context and for supporting context reasoning.Central to our architecture is a broker agent thatmaintains a shared model of context for all computing entitiesin the space and enforces the privacy policies definedby the users when sharing their contextual information.Wedescribe the use of CoBrA, its associated ontologies, andits privacy protection mechanism in an intelligent meetingroom prototype.
