In the vision of pervasive computing smart everydayobjects communicate and cooperate to provide servicesand information to users. Interoperability between devicesand applications not only requires common protocols butalso common context management. In this paper we discussrequirements on the context management based on theGeorgia Tech's Aware Home environment and the globalcontext management perspective of the Nexus project. Ourexperiences with integrating the Aware Home Spatial Serviceinto the Nexus platform show how federation conceptsand a common context model can provide applicationswith uniform context information in different administrativeand application domains.
