For an effective management of data, we need various kinds of meta-data. This article proposes a scheme--an information structure graph (ISG)--to represent meta-data that are not managed as a database schema. An ISG is a directed graph, where nodes represent data objects. It is built on a database schema and extends it to include data creation structures. For each data object in a database schema, an ISG shows its input data objects and a data creation type. An ISG is an abstraction of a data creation structure and may be applied to enhance our understanding of data.
