Abstract

In this paper, the methodology and process used to create a voting system for the Olympic Games to be held in Athens will be addressed. Initially, the problem space, including the user experience and context, will be defined, to help guide the design team. Having defined the problem space, a survey of the available technology and infrastructure will be explored. A framework built from design principles and requirements will be used to guide the design process. Next, the prototype and system will be discussed, followed by usability testing and a final solution - uJudge, an innovative voting system which contains several components: a central server, handheld devices, Jumbotron, and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
