Abstract

In this paper a framework which uses lineartime temporal logic and model checking techniquesto describe the semantics a variety of testspecifications is developed. These include a semanticsfor action words, which are a practicalapproach to model based testing, and coveragerequirements. Features of tools that support thedevelopment of tests using this approach are alsopresented. While model-checking ideas are used,a model of the system is not actually required.Test sequences are directly generated from thespecification of properties.
