Fostering innovation is the key to survival in today'sIT business and is exemplified by introducing newtechnologies and methods to improve the developmentprocesses. This paper presents a follow-up case study oftechnology transfer in a small software organisation. Anew software estimation technique, Web-CoBRA wasintroduced to a small software company to improve theirsoftware estimation process. Web-CoBRA wasconsiderably more accurate than the company's currentestimation process. However, despite management beingaware of this improvement, the company has not fullyadopted the new method. We used interviews and theTechnology Acceptance Model (TAM) questionnaire toassess the extent to which Web-CoBRA was used by thecompany. We found take-up of part of the Web-CoBRAtechnology but the full technology and the support toolswere not used. We identify the reasons for the failure toadopt the Web-CoBRA technology and identify severalareas for improving technology transfer activities.
